Forever Brows :)
Okay so, if you really know me, you know I ALWAYS have to have perfect brows! It’s super hard for me to draw my brows because back in the late 2000’s, when the one liner kilay was uso pa, I over plucked my brows. Kaya ayun! Some of the hairs did NOT grow back. So now, it always takes FOREVER to do my brows and I have tried SOOO many products in the market today. You name it, I have probably tried it. Super kakaloka talaga yun until one day when my changed forever haha!! Drama ko day!:P I met Aisa Ipac, a blogger and celebrity stylist and she introduced me to Keighty Wong of MK The Brow Expert. Keighty studied Eyebrow Embroidery in Hong Kong. She is really, really an expert! She still goes back to study new techniques for all of her clients. She also uses organic ink which is totally different from the ordinary eyebrow tattoo inks out there. So anyway, at first I was scared of the whole Eyebrow Embroidery thing kasi nga naman, it involves needles!!! ACK! But Keighty assured me that it will not be painful naman! 🙂 The whole process lasted about two hours and suuuuper LOVE SUPER LOVE the results! 🙂 I will be sharing some pics of what happened to me during the whole process and even weeks after 🙂 Hope you enjoy it 🙂
Okay, first things first: Keighty will ask you how you want your eyebrows done. The first pic above shows my eyebrows when I arrived at her shop. I used an eyebrow pencil and eyebrow tint kaya maganda pa siya haha!:) Anyway, Keighty will ask you how you want your brows done so it’s all up to you but she will make suggestions also what looks best on your face 🙂 After that, she measures the eyebrows before she puts like a black eyebrow pencil around it. It’s a stopper, so when she does the eyebrow embroidery, she won’t go outside of those black lines.
So here, she uses 12 mini microblades/needles to put the organic dye inside. Of course , she puts local anaesthesia on your eyebrows first and you have to wait around 20 minutes before she starts the procedure. Promise you won’t feel a thing. It just sounds weird so make sure the music is really loud. In my case, I used the Spotify on my phone 🙂
So after two rounds of microblading, here you go! The finished product! 🙂
Keighty will give you a list of DO’s and DON’Ts / Aftercare of your newly embroidered brows so it’s really best to follow those rules. Some of them include, not getting your eyebrows wet for 48 hours (You must carefully wash your face/use makeup wipes to not get any liquid on your brows for 48 hours). She will also give you some organic oil to put on your brows five times a day so they won’t become dry. It also helps let the color stay on the brows longer 🙂
In about a few hours to three days (really depends on your skin type), you will notice that your brows will become dark. It’s the natural process of oxidation. Don’t worry, it will be lighter in a few days/weeks and then there will be some scabbing. Make sure NOT to pick the scabs or else your brows will be uneven. Just let the scabs fall off or put some oil. 🙂
After a month you will have to go back to Keighty so she can retouch your brows. The pic above was taken after Keighty retouched my brows after a month. This is a MUST because she will then check the condition of the embroidered brows and fill in the strokes again 🙂 After the one month retouch, you’re good to go. Your embroidered eyebrows should last for at least ONE to TWO YEARS!!! Yayyyyy!!! Forever brows 🙂
The pic above shows me, Fern (Keighty’s assistant) and Keighty at her shop after my one month retouch 🙂
