After a really long time, I decided to hang out at Westgate Alabang. It’s an old hangout for me because my friends and I used to eat dinner here during my college days (that was when I still lived in the South). My derma was also located at Westgate back then so my schedule would include eating then derma or derma then eating after 🙂
I remember during those years, the best tambayan on weekends was at Westgate during night time because of the restaurants …and another good tambayan for “cute guy hunting” on weekends (because the car clubs would meet there back then 🙂 Pero my friend told me until now, there are still car clubs/ car enthusiasts that meet at Westgate on weekends so I guess, “cute guy hunting” can still be done hahaha!!!
I haven’t been to Westgate in years so I was surprised at what I saw when I arrived:
1) new restos and establishments
2) The old favorites are still there (Whew!) and
3) more family-friendly and child-friendly places 🙂
Usually, during the weekdays, corporate people would have lunch at Westgate but come Friday-Sunday, it’s the high school, college and yuppies turn to wine and dine (well wine for 18 and up only ha!) 🙂 Call center peeps can also be seen hanging out at Westgate during their breaks since Alabang is full of call centers now 🙂
Like I said earlier, the old faves from way back are still there: Brothers Burger, UCC, Cafe Breton, Alba’s, Melo’s and Zong.
I also got to check out the Westgate Hub where some of the furniture stores, pre school and hobbies stores are 🙂 At first I thought it was a mini mall with fashion and food stalls but it’s basically specialty shops inside 🙂
There are many new restos like the one we had lunch in – Neil’s Kitchen .. super yummy food, awesome interiors, and super friendly people 🙂 Sana they open more branches like in Fort or Mandaluyong para near me hehehe:)
I absolutely love the interiors of Neil’s Kitchen. Every single corner (including the bathroom) is super picture/Instagram-worthy especially during the day when the lighting is perfect. Instagram addicts: perfect ootd spot and selfie spot alert!!!
Nachos with super yummy salsa
Aligue Pasta with crab cakes (not in pic)
They also have S&R for your grocery needs and CW Home Depot for your home projects 🙂
Another super good news for parents like me is that Westgate has child-friendly places like Gymboree (my personal fave), The Little Apprentice School, Fun Ranch, among others.
Asher enjoyed playing at Gymboree Westgate Alabang 🙂
So if you guys want to “tambay” without having to get all dressed up and stuff, just head on over to Westgate Alabang. You will instantly feel at home because of the really nice ambience. It’s also a great OOTD place. There are lots of spots where you can “strike a pose” because the whole place is Instagram-worthy!!! This includes the food, too 🙂
Best time to go is the weekend but of course you can also visit during the day- like what I did 🙂
Thank you Jairus and MJ (not in pic) for having lunch with me, Asher and Ate Therese 🙂
I really enjoyed my time at Westgate Alabang the other day. It really feels like home to me. Just simply walking around this laid back atmosphere full of restos and shops made me miss my South girl days 🙂 I will definitely go back really soon 🙂
