Johnson’s Bedtime Routine :) :) :)
How JOHNSON’S® Bedtime™ Helped Asher and Me To Sleep Better
I know a lot of you out there can relate to being sleep deprived, especially as a first-time mom. Throughout my pregnancy, I thought giving birth was going to be the hardest part, but oh was I wrong.
Ever since Asher was born, I’ve only had a maximum of three to four hours of uninterrupted sleep per night. Even at two years old, he still hasn’t gotten a full eight hours, and although my body has gotten used to our usual routine—we’d wake up every two hours or so, I’d breastfeed him, and I’d try to put him back to sleep as fast as I can—I would super love for Asher to get more (better) sleep.
At first, I thought it was normal because all the doctors I went to said it was normal, so I didn’t think it was a problem that we both weren’t getting that much sleep. But once I heard about Johnson’s Bedtime’s new range of products and how it promises an additional one hour of sleep for your baby, I got super excited to try it.
The range includes: the Johnson’s Bedtime Baby Oil, Johnson’s Bedtime Bath, Johnson’s Bedtime Lotion, and Johnson’s Bedtime Powder plus, each product is used according to Johnson’s 3-Step Bedtime Routine, which guarantees changes in just seven days!
JOHNSON’S® Bedtime™ 3-STEP ROUTINE: BATH, MASSAGE, QUIET TIME
I start the routine two hours before Asher’s usual bed time. Following the Johnson’s Bedtime Routine, I put Johnson’s Bedtime Baby Oil first—on his chest and back—to keep his body warm. It’s usually cooler at night so this is a must for me.
After the oil, I make sure that the water in the tub is just the right temperature, not too hot, not too cold, then I put some Johnson’s Bedtime Bath in the water. Asher loves bubbles while taking a bath, so as he’s playing around in the water, I lather some in my hands and scrub down the little cutie pie’s body. It’s a good thing that Johnson’s has a NO MORE TEARS® formula, so I don’t have to worry about soap irritating my baby’s delicate eyes.
The bath calms him down and I can tell that he understands that it’s almost bed time. I think it was the scent of the bath. All of Johnson’s Bedtime products are made with the exclusive NATURALCALM™ aromas, that’s made of Jasmine blossoms, meant to calm down babies for sleep. Even I wanted to get in there and take a bath!
After that, it’s time to give Asher the calming massage using the Johnson’s Bedtime Lotion. He loves this part. I remember the first time we used this, he gave me a sweet smile .
Then, I pat some Johnson’s Bedtime baby powder on his back and read him one of his favorite books to sleep to complete the routine.
THE 7-DAY CHALLENGE
The products and routine guarantee changes to your baby’s sleeping pattern in just 7 days. Here are some noticeable changes I saw in Asher, since we started using the products:
Day 1: At first, he looked a bit confused, as to why I was rubbing oil on him before taking a bath, since I never really did that before. But I can tell that, once we finished everything, he enjoyed the routine. Super smiley si Asher! Of course, the changes wouldn’t happen that fast—and I still woke up a couple of times in the evening to breastfeed.
Day 2: By the second day, he was enjoying the routine so much, he didn’t want to get out of the bath or get up from the bed after the massage! He slept earlier than the day before. We woke up a couple of times but instead of every two hours, he woke up after three hours to feed! And in the morning, we still woke up around our usual time.
Day 3: He slept at the same time he normally sleeps BUT, instead of waking up after two-three hours, he woke up after five hours to breastfeed- this means- more sleep time for me!!! Wow!! In over two years, it’s the most number of uninterrupted hours of sleep I got! Yehey!!! J
Day 4: On our fourth night, we tried doing something different for quiet time, and we read a bedtime story. Asher was really pleasant all throughout the routine. He still woke up a couple of times in the night to breast feed—every three hours to be exact—but it was alright ‘cause we woke up during our normal waking hours.
Day 5: The same happened on our fifth night, and by this point, we had already established a routine of waking up only every three hours, instead of two. Woohoo! We’re making progress. J
Day 6: On Day 6, we added praying the Rosary to our nightly routine. We were still able to complete the ritual, even though it was a bit longer before Asher got to sleep. We still woke up during our normal hours.
Day 7: And finally, on our seventh day, we’ve already mastered the nightly routine and I was so surprised to see that Asher got an extra one hour sleep! It actually worked! After 7 days, my cutiepie actually got to sleep more and so did I! It’s a sign!! My baby boy and I will finally get the rest we deserve!
TONIGHT WE SLEEP Bedtime™ APP
Another helpful tool that I use regularly is the Johnson’s Bedtime App that you all need to download. I really like this app because it helps me out in more ways than one. It has many features like the Sleep Log, Sleep Analysis, Sounds/Lullabies, Ask The Expert feature and many more that can help you solve your baby’s sleep problems.
My favorite feature is the Sleep Analysis. All you have to do is enter your baby’s info by answering some short questions like “Where does your child sleep?”, “What does your child sleep in”, “Does your child usually fall asleep while being fed?” etc.
After answering all the questions, your answers will be graded and given a score. Best score is 100. Based on your score, you’ll get a set of recommendations to help you better put your cutie pie to sleep.
If you have more questions though, you can contact a sleep expert in the “Ask The Expert” feature and they’ll match your question to thousands of questions they’ve previously answered. Instant answers! J
You can also take the test/analysis over and over, based on your new sleeping routine or if you think it has gotten better you can take it again to know your new score and to get new recommendations 🙂
As a working mom, I have a lot on my plate daily. I feed Asher, give him a bath, dress him up, and bring him with me everywhere I go. Yup, you read that right. I bring him with me even to work. 🙂 When I host and attend events, he is there. When I am at home doing social media work (blogging, vlogs, etc), he is in his playroom playing while I blog near him (I set up a table so I can see what he is doing).
I do my best to be as hands-on with taking care of my son, as I can. Thanks to the Johnson’s Bedtime Sleep App, I understand Asher’s sleep better. It really has lots of useful information to guide me as a mom.
For every mother, this is a must. Please download it ASAP. It’s currently available for download on the Apple Store and the Google Play Store, and it’s free!
As I write this blog, I am super excited and determined to continue the Johnson’s Bedtime Routine. I love their products and even though I’ve only used it for a small amount of time, I have seen a HUGE difference already in my baby’s sleeping pattern. I am positive, Asher and I will be sleeping at least one hour more very, very soon!
I am inviting all you mommies out there to try Johnson’s Bedtime Ritual ASAP. Our babies need that extra hour of sleep, for physical, cognitive, and emotional development. J Plus, extra hour of our babies’ sleep means extra hour of sleep for us, too! J
More good news! I’ll be giving away 1 gift pack of JOHNSON’S® Bedtime™ products to twenty lucky mommies to do their own 7-Day Challenge.
All you have to do is:
- Upload a photo of you and your baby on Instagram and;
